Dust clouds

Minqin is located in the Hexi corridor in the southern outskirts of the Gobi desert, the fifth largest wasteland in the world. China now has an annual sandstorm season, every spring behemoth clouds of dust visible from space sweep over the country. "For sandstorms, it's spring in general, from the end of March/beginning of April to end of May" says our translator Ricahrd Liu. He has experienced some of the worst sandstorms imaginable. Sandstorms can be deadly and up to tens of thousands of square kilometres in size.
