A familiar hand

The endangered orang-utans are currently found only in the rainforests of Borneo and Sumatra. At the Frankfurt Zoological Society's centre on Sumatra they try to help young babies who have lost their parents. The centre also take care of older orangs who have been brought in or rescued emaciated and in poor condition since their habitat been destroyed by logging companies. The animals are trained and reintroduced into the rainforest.
