Families break from the intensive labour and the scorching mid day sunshine over the Ganges delta. Local children wave towards a ship sailing out from the industrial port Diamond Harbour out to the Bay of Bengal. "All of us working here know about climate change. The situation is becoming worse and worse, it is important to stop using diesel engines," says Suvas Das one of the workers on the wall. His perspective is that of someone who has lived on this rural island all of his life, now living with the impact of anthropogenic climate change. He has no concept of the luxuries of the leading industrialised nations causing it.
