Bhojpasa

A 20 minute shutter speed shows moving stars and the flow of water past Bhojbasa on a moonlit night. The Bhagirathi river flows towards the village of Gangotri 14 kilometres down stream. Four thousand years ago it is believed that the glacier stretched all the way down to the temple in the village from its current position and possible why the village was built there. The glacier has been constantly receeding since the last ice age but not at the current rate of up to 30 metres per year
